What is FFQF?
FFQF, or, “Founding Father’s Quote Friday,” is a meme created and hosted by Hercules Mulligan (that’s me), here on Meet the Founding Fathers. The meme seeks to interest and educate the public in the history and principles of the American Founding Era (c. 1760-1805).
How does the meme work? Every Friday, those who participate in the meme write a post on their blog, with a quote from a Founding Father of their own choice. They may choose any quote from any Founder they wish, so long as the quote is consistent with the monthly theme (e.g., liberty, the Constitution, the American Revolution, human nature, Greek history, humor, etc).
To find out the theme of each month, check Meet the Founding Fathers on the first Friday of each month. Don’t worry if you don’t get to post a certain quote up under the theme of a certain month. The themes will probably be repeated when I run out of new ideas!
At the beginning of each FFQF post you write, be sure to insert this button:
To do so, please copy and paste this code into your post:
<p style=”text-align: center;”><a href=”http://meetthefounders.blogspot.com/2008/09/what-is-ffqf.html” target=”_blank”><img src=”http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z165/herculesmulligan/FFQbutton02.jpg ” border=”0″ alt=”Favorite Founding Father’s Quote Day”/></a></p>
If you would like to join the meme, all you have to do is follow the above instructions, and enter in your post’s url address in the “Mr. Linky widget” at the bottom of each of my FFQF posts. Feel free to install the widget’s code in your own FFQF posts, too! It helps get the word out about this fun and fantastic meme!
If you would like to familiarize yourself with some great quotes from the Founding Fathers, be sure to check out the past FFQF posts, or visit the following:
