Wishing you all a Happy Thanksgiving!

I wish our American culture placed more emphasis on this celebration, than on Halloween, or even Christmas (if we want to celebrate the birthday of Christ, why don’t we do it on the day He was born — which was in the early spring — rather than on the high day of the sun god?). Thanksgiving is a true American holiday, with its roots in one of America’s earliest settlements, and in the faith and piety that made this nation great.

And on a lighter note, here is some … historical background … Enjoy!

Yes, even Hercules Mulligan finds time to goof off (and no, I didn’t make this movie)!

Hey Herc,

Hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving! I’ve been busy working, doing a little research when I can. What’s been going on with you?

Hello Fida! Good to hear from you. I see you have kept very busy with your writing and blogging ventures. Keep up the good work! I too have been busy. I will stop by as soon as I have time to read blogs again!

Hi OFT! It’s really great to hear from you again after your protracted absence. I too have been busy working away from my computer. Most of what I have been doing is studying, researching in my spare time, writing several series of blog posts (two series each for Alexander Hamilton Patriot and The Foundation Forum), as well as posting weekly for my meme at Meet the Founders, and yes, doing research for THREE books now in my spare time. I have already mentioned by Hamilton book to you. I also hope to write a biography for the Reverend Samuel Kirkland (Christian missionary to the NY Iroquois and father of Hamilton College) and a biography of Elizabeth Schuyler Hamilton (both individuals have never had any biographies written).

So, I too am busy. I hope you will have time to continue to work on your blog and your book. If you have extra time, I would be very obliged to have you check out my blogs for their recent updates, and give me your thoughts.

I had a great Thanksgiving. It was a great break from my schedule. I hope you and your family enjoyed the time also.

Until we talk again,

I remain your sincere friend,

Herky
